This policy explains what information dewitt-studios.com collects, why, and what happens to it. It’s written to be read, not to be survived.

If you’d like anything on this page explained, or you want your information removed, that email address reaches a person, not a ticket queue.
Information you give us
When you submit an enquiry through the contact form, you choose what to tell us — typically your name, email address, phone number, and a description of the work you’re considering. The form is provided by HoneyBook, our client-management platform, so what you send goes to HoneyBook and to us.
We use it to reply to you, prepare a quote, and — if we work together — run the project. We don’t sell it. We don’t share it with anyone who isn’t helping us deliver that work.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, this one records some technical detail about visits:
- The pages you view and how you arrived (for example, a Google search or a direct link)
- Approximate location, derived from your IP address — city-level, not an address
- Device and browser type, and screen size
- How long you spend on a page
This is collected through Google Analytics 4. We use it to see which pages are useful and which are being ignored. It is not used to identify you personally, and we do not try to link it to a name.
Cookies
A cookie is a small file a website stores in your browser. This site uses:
- Necessary cookies set by WordPress, which keep the site working correctly.
- Analytics cookies set by Google Analytics, which count visits and tell repeat visitors from new ones.
- HoneyBook cookies, set on the contact page by the form widget and an associated tracking pixel. This pixel loads on
/contact-us/whether or not you fill the form in.
We do not run advertising or remarketing cookies. Nothing on this site follows you around the internet afterwards, and we don’t build advertising audiences from your visit.
Every browser lets you block or delete cookies — usually under Settings → Privacy. Blocking the analytics and HoneyBook cookies will not stop you using this site or contacting us.
Where your information goes
We use a small number of outside services, each of which handles some data on our behalf:
| Service | What it handles |
|---|---|
| HoneyBook | Contact form submissions, enquiry records, project communication |
| Google Analytics 4 | Anonymous traffic and usage statistics |
| GoDaddy | Hosts the website and its server logs |
| Cloudflare (cdnjs) | Serves standard JavaScript libraries used by the site |
Each keeps its own privacy policy, and each is bound to use your information only to provide its service to us. We do not sell your personal information to anyone, and we never have.
How long we keep things
Enquiries are kept as long as we need them — to answer you, and if you become a client, for the life of the project and our business records afterwards. Enquiries that don’t lead to work are deleted when they’re no longer needed. HoneyBook also retains its own copy of anything submitted through the contact form, under its retention schedule. Analytics data is retained on Google’s standard schedule.
Your choices
You can ask us to:
- tell you what information we hold about you,
- correct it if it’s wrong,
- delete it, or
- stop using it to contact you.
Email sean@dewitt-studios.com and we’ll act on it. There’s no form to fill in and no charge. Depending on where you live — Virginia, California, and the EU among others — you may have these rights in law; we extend them to everyone who asks, rather than checking your address first.
Most browsers also send a “Do Not Track” or Global Privacy Control signal. We honour it by not adding any tracking beyond what’s described on this page.
Children
This site is aimed at businesses and adults commissioning photography and video work. We don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information, email us and we’ll delete it.
Photography and video
Separately from this website: when we photograph or film for a client, the resulting images may show identifiable people. Whether and where those images are published is governed by the contract for that project and by any model or property releases signed at the time — not by this policy.
Security
Enquiries travel over an encrypted connection and are held in HoneyBook, which is access-controlled. No system is perfectly secure, and we won’t claim otherwise. Please don’t send anything highly sensitive — bank details, identity documents — through a website contact form, here or anywhere else.
Changes
If this policy changes materially we’ll update the effective date at the top and, where the change affects information already collected, say so on this page.
